In a pot over medium high heat, add oil. Add cumin seeds and toast them for 30 seconds. Add turmeric powder and mix well. Add ginger and garlic, mix well.
Add onion and sauté for a minute. Cook covered for 2 minutes with a lid on.
Add tomatoes, red chili powder, garam masala, salt and coriander powder. Mix well.
Add ground "beef" and break it up with a spatula. Add 2-5 T of water (You can add 2 tablespoons of water for a thicker curry, or closer to 5 for a slightly thinner curry).
Add in your frozen peas & cover with a lid. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour, stirring frequently. Remove the lid after an hour and allow to cook uncovered for 30 minutes to evaporate any excess water.
Garnish with cilantro, cucumber, red onion, and serve on a bun of your choice!
