Warm olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, then cook until tender. About 5-7 minutes.
Open the package of Ground “Beef” and add straight into the saucepan. Sauté for about 3 to 5 minutes until the mixture is well blended.
Turn the heat down to medium-low, and add the salt, pepper, parsley, oregano and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 3 more minutes.
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce and red wine to your mixture, make sure everything has been combined thoroughly and bring the sauce to a simmer. Once it reaches a simmer, turn the heat down to low, cover with a lid and allow the sauce to simmer for at least 20 minutes.
The longer you are able to allow your sauce to simmer, the more the flavor will develop. Serve over your favorite pasta, or over cruciferous veggies like green beans. Or, use in lasagne or manicotti. This recipe is going to become a household favorite!
