• 2 T vegetable oil
  • 1 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 12 oz. Abbot's Butcher Ground "Beef"
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 T BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp. dark chili powder
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 T red wine vinegar
  • sea salt and cracked black pepper
  • 6 soft hamburger buns, toasted
  • pickles and cabbage slaw, for topping


  • Warm the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cooking for several minutes, until the onion is slightly tender.
  • Add the Ground “Beef to the skillet. Break apart and cook for another 3 minutes, until mixture is well combined.
  • Mix in the tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, chili powder, cumin and vinegar. Reduce heat and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve on a toasted bun and top with sliced pickles and slaw for a zesty crunch.
