Tacos 3 Ways
At Abbot’s Butcher, tacos are a religion. A “Chorizo” and avocado street taco for a busy weeknight meal. A decadent taco bar for a Sunday gathering. A crispy Chick’n taco for a Friday night in. You can’t go wrong with charred tortillas, our plant-based proteins, veggies of any kind and your favorite herbs and spices!
Here are the essentials:
Tortillas - The options are endless: corn, flour, chickpea, cassava. Simply char your choice - just about 30 seconds on one side of the burner, then flip and char for another 30 seconds on the other side, and you have a tortilla crisped to perfection.
Protein - Abbot’s plant-based “Chorizo”, Chick’n and “Beef” all fit seamlessly into any taco menu. Crisp them up in a pan for a few minutes so they get nice and brown, experiment with your favorite seasonings and bon appétit!
Toppings - Tacos are one of the most versatile, and most delicious, canvases when it comes to plant-based cooking. You have such a wide variety of toppings — veggies, salsas, plant-based cheeses, guac, even roasted fruits. This not only completes the taste profile, but gives you space to really exercise some culinary creativity. As for our choice? Simple! Avocado and a squeeze of lime for a perfect first bite.
Herbs & Spices - The finishing step that maximizes the flavor. Cilantro is our go-to herb, especially for tacos. But feel free to experiment. Perhaps Mediterranean tacos with some fresh oregano. Or dill for a Chick'n salad taco. As for spices - some of our favorites include cayenne, cumin, garlic salt and smoked paprika. The exciting part about is that with a simple change, you can completely customize each taco!

Toppings: Sliced avocado and arugula
Herbs & Spices: Chili powder, sea salt and a squeeze of lime
“Beef”
Tortillas: Crunchy corn
Protein: Savory Ground “Beef”
Toppings: Chopped romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, plant-based cheddar shreds and a dollop of sour cream
Herbs & Spices: Red chili flakes (optional)
